Western Iowa has been a little late to the disc golf party, but will likely see a new course of an as-yet not determined number of holes in Denison IA. Yellow Smoke County Park is just east of Denison and features tons of elevation, trees, a large lake. Pretty much a blank slate from which to carve out an outstanding course.
A generous benefactor has taken a liking to the sport and wishes to provide a quality outdoor experience for the area. I’ve been hired to help flesh out what kind of course it will be and where it will go. Great motivation to get going on this project. Hopefully, we’ll see something in the ground before the year is out.
